Judging & Decisions

Projects will be evaluated by HTCJ judges and partners

Judges’ decisions are final and binding

Reassign tracks for judging purposes

Withhold awards if minimum standards are not met

Legal & IP Terms
Intellectual Property (IP)

Teams retain 100% ownership of their intellectual property

Participation in HTCJ does not grant HTCJ ownership, equity, or licensing rights to submissions
By participating, teams grant HTCJ a non-exclusive, royalty-free right to:

Display project names, descriptions, screenshots, and demos

Use submissions for promotional, educational, and community purposes
No commercial use of IP will occur without explicit written consent.
Confidentiality

Participants are responsible for protecting their own confidential information

Do not submit proprietary or sensitive material you are not authorized to share

HTCJ is not responsible for any disclosure made by participants
Liability & Assumption of Risk
By participating, you agree that:

Participants are responsible for their own equipment, safety, and conduct.

Participation in HTCJ:

Does not guarantee funding, investment, incubation, or partnership

Any post-event opportunities are optional and discretionary

Advancement decisions are made independently by HTCJ or partners

Harassment, discrimination, or abusive behavior will not be tolerated

Projects may be disqualified if they:

Violate these rules

Contain plagiarized content

Are primarily built outside the hackathon window

Engage in unethical or illegal activity

Adjust schedules, tracks, or judging criteria

Cancel or reschedule the event if necessary

Eligibility

Open to all developers, designers, and entrepreneurs (16+).

Cross-functional teams (e.g., 1 Dev + 1 Athlete) get bonus points.
